Default 589's on stock rims

If I put ITP 589 M/S's 26-9-12 in the front, and 26-12-12 in the rear on my stock rims will they rub width wise? Also, does anyone know how true the sizing is? Is a 26" really 26" high?

Hello, I can't help you with the tire question but I am wondering the same thing. I just sent an e-mail to ITP's tech department. My dealer told me I would need wheel spacers, yet other guys on this forum have said you don't if you use the ITP C series rims. I will let you know what ITP says. I have same bike as you (2004.5 SP500H.O.) I asked ITP to let me know about the 589MS and the new Mudlite XTR radials.
Can you tell me what you think of the Amsteel winch rope. I have a few posts on the Polaris site as I have broke the steel cable when I started using it with my Glacier plow. Did you use your rope with your plow and how does it hold up. Thanks.

Primus, I love the rope. I used it for plowing and it worked fine. I would recomend it to anyone. I just like the fact that if it does brake it just drops to the ground and does take my head off.

Let me know what ITP says.
Thanks

Thanks for your opinion on the winch rope. I've been struggling in my mind if I should bye it or not. ITP e-mailed me back. Out of all the questions I asked the only real info I got is if you use your stock rims with 26" mudlites or 589ms you will need wheel spacers. If you use their C5 rims you don't as they have a different offset. They did not say how much wider they would make the stance if any. I asked about the tread depth difference between 25 and 26" but never got an answer. Also he told me I would not have a noticable loss of power going with the 26" 589/C5 combo, it won't throw the speedo out much but he did say it would cause more drivetrain wear and tear. I didn't find out the actual diameterof a 26". And I also inquired about the new mudlite xtr radial and their new C7 rim combo but he said they are only available as a 27". That's all I know for now, hope that helps you a bit.
p.s. the part numbers for the 589/C5 kits for our 500's are; 410090 front/ 410100 rear.

Thanks!
As far as tread depth difference between 25 and 26" 589's are the same and the Mudlites 25" are 1/2" and the 26" and up are 1", but they now make a 25" XL that is 1" also.
