One thing I noticed is the EFI machines don't require as much effort as the carb models.

Is this for real
If your thumb hurts after riding do the world a favor.... Go to the gym 1 day a week for a 1/2 hr. Problem solved.

Other than the tiredness argument the only thing that bothers me about the thumb throttle is where the shift is on the Can-Am. I don't know how many times I've hit the throttle with my arm when I went to shift it. Good thing I hold on to the brake when I shift.

I personally like the finger throttles on jetskis mostly bc when you go WOT you are in a full grip position with your hand. Plus if needing to slow down quickly, you let off and your palm stops your forward movement of your body and there is no worry of blipping the throttle. While some may not prefer this setup, it does work better IMO.

Well - maybe if you weren't shifting with your hoof

Hooves are good for disemboweling someone too. Just remember that next ride.
