I need new tire for my Raptor. Which is better... Maxis Razor or GBC Shredder? For trails? Desert? Track? Sharp rocks? Grip? Life?

ITP Holeshot XC's! I have ridden these for a dozen years in nasty desert terrain, and never had a flat in many thousands of miles.

The Maxxis Razr 2 is an amazing tire, that is what I run. A nice 6 ply tire that is very puncture resistant. The Razr2 is the best tire I have ever run. Like stated before ITP has great tires too. The ITP Holeshot XCT is designed for desert riding. It is a very tall and tough set-up. Exactly what you want in the desert.

I have at times flip-flopped between the XC's and XCT's. The XCT's are just enough taller that they raise the center of gravity a bit, and make the quad a little more tippsy. I would never run them again unless the quad has been widened to a full 50".

And remember....your Raptor 660 is already a bit tippsy to begin with!

+1 I just put the Razr 2's on my Raptor 700 and love them!

A true desert set-up is close to that of a MX set-up 50" wide. Just a bit taller.(higher)

ITP's and Maxxis are great, but don't overlook the very good, less expensive Kenda Klaw XC's or the Knarly's. They have gotten very good customer reviews and they cost half of what you pay for the others. Just a thought.

Absolutely, Kenda makes some great tires. Maxxis and ITP is a step above but none the less Kenda's are the way to go on a budget.
