3rd gear noise....not good!

3rd gear noise....not good!
Hi all,
New to this forum and looking for some help.
I have a YFM200DX Moto4 quad bike (or atv as you guys call them). Third gear has developed a disturbing noise...like a coin rattling around a can, only in third gear.
Any ideas on where I should start. Not interested in going to a mechanic at $90.00 an hour over here!!!!
I have a manual and not to bad on mechanical stuff.
The bike is otherwise in great shape and has plenty of life.
