The 589s do rob a lot of power. I took them off the c-series wheels for the P650 and sold the c-series and mounted the 589s on the Kodiak. The 589s take the "fun factor" out of the P650. The Kodiak doesnt provide "that" kind of fun but its purpose is mud and water riding.
Bottom line, if you are going to do alot of mud riding then get the 589s if you will hit mud occasionally then try the Mudlites.

The 27" 589's weight a fair bit more than the 26" So if you get the 26" ones it won't be so bad. Brother has 589's (26") on his 450 HON, and they rob some, but not that much power.
Kissofdeath said it wright though, 589's for mud, mudlites for occational mud.
BTW, kiss... that KOD must have lost a lot of power with 27" 589's!! I got 26" gators and the mud is now done in low
