Hey Dschick do you ride at little sahara in oklahoma?
If this is the same person, their stage 3 bikes were busting some *** on memorial weekend. I was running a good tuned stage 1 on nitrous and was having a hard time beating her. Ifact I dont think I ever was ahead.

Wow, a guy asks a few questions about moving to CA from PA and you give him this load of BS.
Seriously.
MacV700:
The DS, Raptor, YFZ, 450R, Z400, Predator, 400EX all make good duners.

Thanks for all the replies. I was aways for a few days and I was surprised how this thread blew up.
Looks like the votes are for the YFZ or DS. I am a big guy @ 6'1" and 260lbs. So I assume the DS would fit me better because I love the way my V fits me. I didn't see any input on the 800 kit for the V. Hasn't anybody seen one of these at the dunes? I am curious to see how it may perform against the DS and Yami's.
Looks like I have a lot of thinking to do when I get to CA. Thanks again.

On the Kawie Forum, there are several guys running the Four Stroke Tech 800 kit, and from what they are saying, it is well worth it.
I'm not going to sit here and try to talk you out of a DS, because they are one h*ll of a good Dune Quad, but before you make your decision take your V for a ride at the dunes and see what you think. By the way, the Stock ITP tires SUCK big time in the sand, so use some paddles. I think you will be suprised how well that Big Ol Fat Quad will do.

One thing I'll say about those V's...That sound BITCHIN with an open duel exhaust! They sound like a built small block chevy! I've never ridden one, but want one just for the exhaust! I heard my first one last weekend, and I was drooling!

ShadyRascal,
I owned two V-Forces before getting my DS650. The last V-Force had a Muzzy pipe, K&N, snorkel mod, and countless hours of clutch tuning, along with 24" paddles. The DS has an HMF slip on, and 22" paddles.
For sand dune use the V-Force was better at climbing the super impossible and super steep climbs. For hillshooting and drag racing it all just depends on how much money you want to spend. However, a big bore DS (730cc with porting, carb, and exhaust changes) is going to be faster than a V-Force big bore (800cc). Been there, seen that. For general duning they are both good, take your pick. For jumping, NO CONTEST, the DS and its 12" of suspension travel and 470 lb weight blows away the V-Forces 7.9" of suspension travel and 516 lb weight.
I am having more fun (at the dunes) with my DS than I did with the V-Force. I like to jump, and the DS does that very well.
