we are taking our first trip to Glamis this weekend, does anybody have any tips? or things that we should take (other than the normal stuff) that we might not think of?

I did my first trip last weekend. I recommed you ride with someone that has done some dune riding before. There are some things that can jump up and get you if you aren't used to riding the dunes.

You might also consider taking some dust masks or at least bandanas to cover your nose and mouth. I know I swallowed about 6 pounds of sand, and brought back 4 or 5 in my nose...LOL

After that, it was a total blast...I need to get back real soon.

Oh man, that's a loooooong ride for you. If you did it at the right time though, totally worth it.

Take plenty of water to wash and clean with. Don't forget any food items, its 20miles to town or just a few to the GLAMIS BEACH STORE, but the beach store is high on prices. Take plenty of fuel, its also high priced there. I got 110 gallons of Methanol to take.

Pay attention to land marks when riding, you can get lost easy and run out of fuel.

have fun, we are going back next month for our forth trip since '02

My friend,s just got back from the weekend. They got fined 2 times, $500 each time for litter in there camp. They said the ranger was a real jerk! He found 3 cans next to a trailer and 2 in the campfire. So if you go do not leave trash around your campsite, not even a trashbag, put everthing in your trailer or a can. Also everthing that goes on the sand must have a flag and lights front and rear and top of flag for night riding.

Bring a cell phone on each ride, don't ride alone... GPS is a good thing and above all look both ways so a dumb *** in a high powered buggy does not wax you.

With that said, you will completely dig it and make sure you visit China Wall. It still freaks me out to this day going down that hill. It's a must see/do! Oh yeah be sure to do Boardmanville for lunch too!
