How would a Recon do???
#2
The Recon isn't the hot dune machine, but surprisingly it does pretty well in the sand. At Pismo they rent them (by the hundreds) to the tourists (I spend a lot of time helping them out when they get stuck). The secret is to keep your momentum up, and don't stop on any uphill. It's hard to get the machine going again once you stop. My kids have a blast on theirs.
Personally, I go to the dunes for AIR TIME. I look for the smaller dunes that have steep back sides, and I use them for jumps. Again, surprisingly the little Recon is an excellent jumper (for a utility). Go for it.

I learned earlier that the Recon is a good jumper by accident. I was going up what I thought was a bumb in the road that sent me flying unezpectedly about 10 or 15 feet foward.
Thanks for the reply and I look foward to going to he dunes here in Arizona.
