oh, per the topic...I try to get to Glamis on Thursday nights and camp at Roadrunner or Keyhole which is at the bottom of Gecko road. Quite and no jackasses!!

Just get as far South as you can down Gecko.

The loudest spot is the top loop on Gecko Campground Road. (not shown on the map but it branches off Gecko (Gecko restrooms) to the east and then goes north parrallel to Gecko)

Just ride south of Oldsmobile and you will be jackass free!

Remember, its public land for the public. A truck is considered at ride. The BLM is cracking down on the 8 people and 2 coolers of beer" crowd.

All of these problems occur on 3 big weekends, with Thanksgiving being the biggest weekend. Personally I go to Glamis to ride and party. I go to Comp and race, then hang back. I go to the Sand drags and parade up and down. It boils down to this: Watch your back and stick with your buds and its fine. Dont whine about the music, weve got to remember something, not everyone goes to bed at 9:00 pm (especially if there is a killer camp fire going!). If I had a stereo, Id be blasting it too. Like Micheal said, just dont camp there if you dont like it, but I wouldnt critisize those that do. We dont need a 10:00 pm curfew.

There is a difference between partying and being a JACKASS. We prefer to do our boozing around OUR killer camp fire till late at night without having to listen to someone els's music turned to F'n &quot;11&quot; and listening to an 18 year old ride back and forth, in and out, round and round CAMP at 3:00 F'n AM on his poorly tuned 125 2stroke!!! If you think that is being critical, watever!

 

No, what you describe is what im talking about. maybe I should have been a bit more clearer on the music part. Dont blare the music so loud that it can be heard 3 camps away, within your own camp only, but dont complain if someone in your camp is rocking out.. that when you move if you have to...

a &quot;friend&quot; of mine USED to be fun until he got a case of vaginitis. It turned out that he was a ton of fun only when he was drinking, which was all the time. Then his wife got on his case and he went dry. The next trip he was a huge BORE. Complained the whole time about noise and went to bed at 9:00. We rode his **** so hard he packed up and towed his shiznit to Brawley to get some sleep. haaa haaa! We ride so many miles in a day it is impossible to stay up past 2:am.

 

I love our trips to Glamis!!! We are a family that can split a 12 pack between us and have some left over. My family rides kool and for fun the newest bike is a 89 250ex ant then 2 raptors and my dale. every thing else is from the mid 80's. we do our own thing and not what the crowd does, but i do make a point of the chanel (sp?), the sand drags, olds, and comp. i like to watch the people. I am 17 and 135 lbs and love to call people out! O yeah wshrdskin i pass your house every day on the way to work (at least i think thats where u live). but if you go with your family avoid comp or the drags! it gets out of hand. i when to oct. wells 1 weekend and felt more endanger there then in glamis. but behind the store till wash 10-12 and u will be fine. and durning the day olds is alot of fun just dont stop at the bottem. and if your looking at the bottem go to the left up that little hill and then go right up a few dunes and u will be at the top of olds. and behind olds there is a big jump that is fun to hit. and people are always there. i think of glamis as every great off road video rolled in to 1, the good and bad. PM me if any body like wshrdskin or yzguy is going to glamis or pheland or any where i am always look for new people to ride with just let me know when and where and i will see you there. of i have every tool ever made because i am a tool freak so let me know what u need i am glad to help out in extange for some new people to ride with. I was wondering, does anyone know for sure if camping areas past wash 15, next to the tracks, are still free. The glamis website says it is, but I have seen some info saying it isn't. Any experience?
