roostking, the hill gets crazy, and if the wind blows it is a big dirt storm. At oasis, you get a little bit of wind protection, can still get dusty, but not as bad as the hill.
It usually takes me about 10 minutes to get to the mtn, if I ride straight to it. I play abit inbetween, so it is maybe 15minutes or so. Not bad at all.
I usually ride to the mtn, go up it and over it and play around back, then come back to the mtn and watch the racing, hit it a few times and then head back for a beer or other refresshment. Also, I like oasis because there are some little trails that the kid can play on and I can take him and not be as worried about getting run over.
Just my reasoning. If it was just me and some guys I would probably camp at the hill, but with the family it is nicer to have some sanity and also sleep.

Oh. Shoot! Hmm well see. The problem is, 4 miles eats up quite a bit of gas, just to get to the dunes. Thats like going from the washes to Gecko, where we went for the sand drags that day) I dont see being able to get much riding in if you have to make that trip both ways. What is the weather like in Utah at that time? And remember this year Wyo, youve got an awning!

It's not a far ride and it's pretty straight to the mountain from Oasis but it's up to you. I'm too much of a wimp to camp at the dustbowl at the mountain.
To me riding the 4 miles is no big deal and there is still plenty of gas for a lot of playing around, besides there is a lot of good riding between the mountain and Oasis.

Weather should be cold at night (around 40's) and probably 60's to 70's during the day. At least that's how I remember it when I went.

I agree with wyo. It can be a real fun fast paced ride to the hill also.
