Default '87 Warrior starter turns but no spark. Plz HELP!

When I turn the key and push the button the starter turns like its going to start but thats it. I took the spark plug out so I could c if there was a spark and there was none. Don't know why. Hoping someone will. Plz can some1 help.

well there are a few reasons why it might not be sparking, 3 main ones being the CDI, ignition coil, and stator. Another problem could be the atvs wiring harness itself.

Check to see if there's power going to your coil, if there is power to the coil, chances are the coils bad. if not, check your stator outputs to see if they're giving juice. if they are giving juice, but there's none at the coil, the CDI may be to blame.

also check all killswitches.

I'd look at all your grounds and pay close attention to your kill switch. Warriors have a reputation for having problems here...

this is a dumb question but when you were checking that plug for spark, the side of it was touching the engine block correct?(just eliminating that it could be a carb issue)

also did you try starting it with the choke on or off?
and if there is no spark did you try a new plug? plugs do foul out.


if it is an electrical issue, thats going to start getting expensive if its more than the cdi box
