Steering dampeners? your thoughts??
rookie ATV'er here,
have a new rancher 420 honda.
ive been at the trail every chance i can get. mine does not have power steering...
what are your thoughts on steering dampeners, are they even available? I can fabricate it to fit if theres non made for my model, but my question is, would it be handy?
would it help rid of fighting the steering at times?
thanks

I bought the pistonvariety for my wife's 400ex, she says she can't tell any difference. Now I don't know if that's the dampeners fault or hers.
I will probably end up getting her the more expensive type and I'll put hers on my quad.
Not sure if they make one for your machine, but most people I've talked to that have them on sport quads, really like the change.

Other then the precision or fastway steering stabilizers I wouldn't waste my money. I have seen some shock based ones that range from $125 to $200 and they have all failed after 1 day of riding the rocky trails by me. One guy still claims that his replacement has been great but he hasn't road anything rocky yet
I really want to try out the fastway but at $500 I think for now I will live without it. If your just trail riding it won't make that big a difference unless crawling through some nice rocky stuff in low diff loc. As said above they don't improve steering only damping but would definitely be cool to test one out riding the rockier trails here WOT
