So- the "gov" has now made it mandatory that all cigarette packages print new shocking images on the box by october... like these one's below.

Just curious if this tactic will work on any of you (cigars excluded) ???

I don't smoke- I'm too attached to my money - but I do enjoy a cigar a few times a month

 

All this is going to do is increase the sales of cigarette cases.

Really surprised the tobacco industry hasn't tried to for the alcohol industry to put warnings like this on their products.

I smoke kind of hurts after riding for a while wanted to quit for a while just haven't but it don't matter whats on the box if you smoke you do. if your not ready to quit you won't and as far as the money thing goes. I role my own at $15 a carton so I won't get to see the pics anyway

 

A friend of mine had one lung removed because of cancer and he still smoked until it killed him. Some people will still smoke no matter what kind of warning they get. I quit over 20 years ago because I wasn't getting anything out of it. After I quit I was okay until I started working with a bunch of smokers, then I kept getting lung infections until I got a different job.

 

This is the stupidest thing I think I've ever seen. The government is going to such extreme measures, while still beating around the bush, so to speak, to decrease tobacco use. Why not just do the obvious? Ban tobacco and be done with it. They banned three wheelers afterall, and they killed less than .000001% of the people that are killed by tobacco.

 

I don't smoke and never have. In my opinion they won't make a difference.

They've proven that cigarettes can cause cancer, but people keep smoking.
I have relatives that can barely breathe, yet they continue.
Prices have gone up to an unbelievable level, but people still smoke.
In Canada, they have the packages hidden behind doors at stores thinking if you don't see them, you won't buy them...whatever.

 

Nobody even looks at the labels I think... but the goverment gets a tax on that stuff thats why they dont make it illegal.

 

It's a waste of time..

 

I'm going to collect the pictures and trade them like baseball cards.
