Default So-called faulty machines

Maybe someone can answer these questions-I cannot.

1. How do so many faulty parts, which come down an assembly line at random, all end up in 1 vehicle?

2. When that vehicle is sold, because the origional owner has had a guts-full, go for years in the hands of a new operator with very few problems?

I have spent many years in the motortrade and seen this happen many many times.

Love that answer. SOOOOO TRUE

But that aside, I once got a quad which was, to quote the owner, a total piece of Yamaha crap. It had spent so much time at the dealers, and they also were far from impressed with both the quad and the owner, in its first year, that it had only 300km on it. It was never abused but never ran properly: electrics, mechanicals, you name it, everything failed.
I bought it off the origional owner, who was still complaining about everything. I kept it 5 years and 15000km. Never missed a beat anytime. Just normal maintenance was done. Sold it for more than I paid and it's still going sweet with over 45000km on it. Sure beats me!!!
The origional owner purchased Suzuki Eiger when they first came out and it has never put a foot wrong either.
Such is life.

some people I think create more problems themselves.
There was a kid on here a while ago who said he went through 4 or 5 cvt belts over the past year- mechanics couldn't find anything wrong so he was looking for answers... I proposed the problem was with him and how he rides- which he dismissed

I've ridden with lots of different people over the years and I can tell you- some people just have no clue how to treat their atv. Things like shifting into 4x4 while hammering the throttle in a mud hole, shifting from H to L while moving, not choosing the best line when bombing down a rocky trail, mounting 30" tires on stock cv's and wondering why cv's and tierods keep breaking, not doing oil changes or cleaning out the radiator after a muddy ride... all kinds of poor rider habits that can cause an atv to fail.

I'm hoping one day that I can learn how to properly maintain an ATV so I can get some decent mileage out of them.
