looks like yamaha hides everything behind plastic also? that's one of the great things I love on my can-am, nothing is covered up-

love the stone work in the pic btw

Yamaha designs there plastics to come off very easy it's a well thought out design . You can pull the black top section and the blue sides in minutes ( one wrench ) . I'v read on grizzly forms where guys can strip all the plastics off in a hour but I see no reason why I'd every remove the front or rear fenders unless I break one . Stone work is good but it needs topped up with that special sand and me being lazy and always riding it never seems to get done , Why work when you can ride

My goal is 20,000 miles in 5 years on that machine , since the spring of 2008 I'v rode almost 18,000 miles on atv's It's good to set goals .

a rancher in Wyoming where i hunt has gone through 3 or 4 grizzly's in the past 6 years or so.
out there they are legal to ride on roads plus the 1,000s of acres they own.
he gets between 20,000 and 30,000 miles on his atv before buying a new one and he said he rarely has ever had a problem with them. Very minor if any at all he said. Thats why he continues to buy them.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their comments and their opinions. They were a huge help and I appreciate it so much.

In the end though, I rode several and went today and picked up a 2009 Can-Am 800R.

Just be careful on that throttle. It will wheelie in high gear. Congratulations!

Welcome to the can-am clan

You made a fine choice in atvs-

A few tips....

The brakes always chatter
The cvt will always cook your leg
Shock bushings will get squeaky
The whirling sound while in neautral is normal
The F-18 jet sound the rotax makes is normal
Slow down before shifting into 4x4
Rocking to shift gears while not moving is normal
And hold on tight when stuffing the throttle

I have already figured out that hitting the throttle too hard will give you an excellent view of the sky!

As for sounding like an F-18, mine has a Penland HMF exhaust and sounds more like a freakin' monster truck.

That's just a minor technicality. I like to experiment with my welder and pipe bender. Should have seen the triple tube front bumper/winch mount I built for my Suzuki...
