Default Need help starting old 4 wheeler

My uncle gave me his 1989 Yamaha breeze. Its been sitting for 15 years.. I got a new starter, starter clutch, battery, brake cables, ignition coil, rebuilt the carb, air filters, and it will turn over but not start. It sounds like it is misfiring. Im getting a good spark and spraying starter fluid directly through the carb and it still doesn't fire up. Dont really know what to do from here, any ideas? - Thanks

Check the valve clearance then check compression. What I've been able to find is .002-.004 on the intake,.003-.005 on the exhaust valve. Don't know what average compression should be,but if it's less than a 100 psi this may be your problem. Sitting 15 years can cause a cylinder to have rust spots in it and it's sure not good on pistons and rings.

Thank you for helping, i hooked everything up and i got it to start finally. but it will idle for a little and die.. it is really hard to start and when it does it seems like the carbs not working right, even tho i rebuilt it
