Got gas last night for $1.89 in Burlington, Mass. last night. That's the lowest I've seen it in Mass.

Premium 92 octane is still a little under $2 here. It's $.20 more than 89 octane which is $.20 more than regular 87 octane. A long time ago it used to be $.10 difference between grades. They don't have any 93 octane or higher where I go. By the end of the month I should have another $200 spent on groceries and get another $.20 a gallon off.

It is very easy to find many articles about how the decrease in the price of oil is negatively affecting the economy. When it was still high, when gas was $4+ a gallon, I rarely every saw anything on how this was negatively impacting the consumer. I did read how the oil companies were enjoying their greatest profits ever. This alone says that gas never had to be that high. The message I got out of this was "screw us". It was almost as if they were saying "We are going to charge that much because we can." I am enjoying the low gas prices, and I think we were well overdue for some relief. I also believe that lower gas prices have contributed positively to the economy since people may be spending more on other things. I would venture to say that it balances out in the end.

Exactly... the oil company's just want the huge profits. Not to mention that they were all in a battle with each other to get their hands on as many new locations as they could.
