When I had a Warn A2000 winch with the cheap solenoid that looked like a little tin can, I mounted it inside the rear cargo compartment. I just had to make sure I didn't toss a wrench or anything like that in there, if it wasn't in a case. My next ATV had a big heavy duty contactor instead of the little solenoid, and I mounted it on the frame next to the battery, which was under the left rear fender. I never had any trouble with it at all, no matter how wet and dirty it got.

Stock solenoid has a blue, green and black wire and the new one only has black and green. Also those 3 wires I mentioned plug into a 3 wire plug. This is why I wanted the OEM. Anyone have any idea on this one?

So the black wire after removing the heat shrink on the stock solenoid splits and goes to both the blue and yellow. So my “guess” is blue to the 12v + , green to green and black to black. Sound right?

New solenoid
Old one: blue & black
