Question ATV Winch issue

The winch just stopped letting line out. Will retract but not let it out. Reversed the polarity at the posts and does the opposite. What do I need to replace? The solenoid block? So frustrating. I’m on 2 hours of sleep so bear with me.

Do a search for the brand and model of your winch and you will probably find lots of input there.

Unplug the three wires from the winch switch and test for continuity in both directions { in-out } , if that checks ok then you need a new contactor

If you need the switch -

I tested the switch. It’s definitely the solenoid. The winch is Arctic Cat as well so I was looking for a OEM replacement.

A solenoid is a solenoid ! I wouldn't spend the extra money for oem , they're all made in China anyway .

Was looking for something that will last and didn’t want something that will crap out on me in a bad situation. But half the time it’s the same stuff in a different box.

Let me guess the Solenoid is mounted down by the winch right where it gets the same abuse of mud and crap. I mounted mine up and under the seat

I just had to clock my starter relay slightly under the seat to make room for it.
