I think they called it a hp kit, I called to make sure they had it in stock (which they didn't at the time)
I had to pay $286 including shipping, but I think they forgot to give me the 10 bucks off.
Got the pipe, intake with air cleaner and jet.
Anyone know if these fit Carter Brothers Talon line or KPX as well? They are all so closely related...

According to the site they say it fits Kasea, Dazon and Twister.

I keep getting different messages here... Just saw on another forum that a person has in fact ordered Talon parts directly from Carter Brothers. He said he actually used the parts on a Hammerhead, but got them by calling Carter directly.

???

i wish that we had that luck in the past. maybe they have changed their policy or he called a different number than what we've been calling.

I did notice they sell a lot of parts right on the Carter Brothers web site www.carterbro.com but none that I saw on the pages were specifically for the Talon line... lot of parts, maybe some of them are. I would think if they sell on their webpage for some carts, that they would let parts go for the others too. Maybe you did have an incorrect phone number or something.

here is something for anyone looking to buy one of these types of carts. i cant believe the weight difference, but it is definitely something to consider. i just noticed that the shipping weight for the carter talon dlx150IIr is 662lbs and the carter talon 125 fx125IIr is 463lbs. i can see the 150s being a little bit heavier, but i cant figure out where the extra 200lbs are. are the 2 seater kpx and twister carts that heavy?

Way cool! I was looking for hop ups and info the the 05' Twisters. This site has been very resourceful - Thanks all.

I just bought a 05 twister double hammerhead and overall these karts are pretty awesome. I picked mine up from Indiana PowerSports (www.indianapowersports.com ... I think) and they were good people to work with. I ended up around $2800 out the door. Not sure if thats high for this exact unit but it seemed more thought was put into the design and added features over the KPX and other units. I bought the metallic silver with the chromed aluminum rims and the kart looks tough. I too am looking for more low end grunt though and may have to try the air filter / pipe combo!

Take Care!

Al

Must in part be the way they are crated but I'm not entirely sure. A kpx twin owner stated to me that he didn't think his was much more than the mid 400's. I would think the Carter DLX model, and the Twister 2 seater would be the heaviest... look at all the extra metal there. Search and you can probably find the true weight to the Hammerhead Twister two seater... I bet they are within ouces of the Carter Tallon DLX II... they look totally identical. Seriously, there are side and front panels where the KPX is wide open.. then the rearview mirror metal attachment area... don't forget the bigger tires (I like the idea of bigger tires) but that's probably another 20lbs total or the larger tires... rubber is pretty heavy. KPX has 19s in the back, carter has 22s... that's a pretty big difference.

Which comes down to another reason I'm torn between KPX, Carter, and Dazon

I really want Fenders, and it burns me that Dazon charges so much, but really have a stripped model that doesn't even have fenders. (wonder if KPX or Carter fenders would attach somehow???? anyone?)

I like the overall package of the KPX, but I really wish the tires were larger like the Dazon and the Carter... I don't particularly want to be messing with tires, rims, and gear ratios right off the bat to get better clearance.

I like the fact that Dazon is said to be the faster of the carts, comes with better breathing engine head... but it's pretty stripped for the price. Also, the dazon has the solid bench like the lower end talons, instead of the bucket seats... another drawback.

All and all, I'm leaning more towards the Dazon Twin seater, I guess... it looks light, and already has the engine ready to breath a little better, and the larger tires. If I can find out if the available fenders out there will fit or not, that will probably make the difference for me at this point.

Guys that have built the Carter/KPX/or Hammerhead models with fenders... How was the fender attached? Did it look like they could be added directly to the other models, or would it take some fabricatiion to get it done right??

I don't think you paid too much... pretty much everyone getting your model are getting it between 2700 and 2800.

The ebay listing is almost a day away from closing, and doesn't include assembly or delivery fees... it will go up from there, for sure.
