Go here:

And then join that group. Once you are a member of that group, then you can access the manual. It's in the "FILES" section. It's actually a good group to belong to. It's mostly Yerf-Dog owners, but there are other kart owners in there as well.

For those interested, I finally took both of my Xterro's out for a comparison today. My blue one has stock internals with a pipe, jetting, and a K&N. And my black one has the same bolt-ons, but it has a ported and polished Yerf-Dog head with larger intake and exhaust valves.

No comparison, the black one spanks the blue one in a drag. And it's hill climbing ability is FAR greater. Hills that stop the blue one in its tracks, the black one trucks right up.

I'm not sure getting the Yerf head is necessary. The heads look identical other than the valves and combustion chambers. For my next conversion, I'm gonna see if my local motorcycle machine shop can put the larger Yerf valves in my KPX head. I only used the whole Yerf head because I had it available. And it was free. I'll be doing this conversion in the next week or so.

Here are my experiences with the Pipe and jet kit/uni air filter that East side sells.
I put the pipe on this weekend and didn't have time to put the rest on because I was anxious to try it out anyway. I noticed an immediate improvement in low end power. It definetly had more grunt, not much added on top though. All of the screws on the back of the pipe were loose and I lost one. The pipe looks professional, the part that replaces the stock air system is pretty crude looking but I am into performance not looks.

Saturday I put the jet kit and filter on. The jet was a 145 and replaced a 108. Now the buggy seems a little slower again, also smokes now and the plug is black. Is there anyway I put too much oil on the filter? I squeezed the excess out with paper towels. 145 seems like a big jump to me. Can I find these jets locally? thinking of trying a 140 or 135.

Took the buggy out a couple of weekends ago to Turkey Bay which is an excellent off road park, maybe a little rough though. The buggy did good, had some trouble climbing steep hills. I did manage to bend the bar thing that sticks out of the strut/kingpin? that attaches to the end of the rack & pinion steering. Came off a pretty large jump and landed on one front wheel. Pretty harsh landing! All in all the buggy did very well, almost impossible to tip over (so far).

A few more things, the stock air filter is worthless, you can see the dust getting by this into the air system. My oil was filled too high also causing some to come out of that tube the other guy was talking about.

The last thing, I went ahead and bought castrol syntec 10/40, do you guys think this will work well in this?

thanks for the advice,
Kell

You should be fine with your oil choice. Your black smoke problem is definately a rich condition. The jump to 145 main is HUGE. Even a 120 in mine was too rich. Here's the carb setting's I found work best in these motors:

Shim the needle approximately .030"
Drill out the stock main jet .003"
And adjust the pilot screw to wherever it idles best(wait approximately 2 minutes before adjusting. It appears that the electric choke comes on everytime you cycle the key. Whether the engine is warm or not).

Those setting's should be close. Assuming you're somewhere near sea level. I'm at 1100 feet.

I checked and our elevation is around 400'
Not sure where to find the shim material, I don't have access to pilot drillbits either. Do you think I can pick up a jet that fits from our local bike shop? the carb says made in japan on it. When I ordered the pipe kit, they asked me my elevation which I didn't know at the time. I don't want to wait another week for them to get me another main jet. I guess a set of drillbits would come in handy though!

thanks for the input.

Oh yeah, had every kid in the neighborhood riding in the cart this weekend, and when I unloaded down at turkey bay there was a crowd around the twister but no-one around my bro's rhino. go figure?

I just use small machine screw washers for shims.

The main jets look like the same jets that my Raptor uses. Although I havn't compared them directly.

I'm not surprised that your Twister received more attention than the Rhino. These Karts are cool-looking compared to the Golf-kart appearing Rhino. Too bad these Karts don't have the Rhino's power.

Out of curiosity, jetted at 140, try a pod filter directly on the carb. If this restores the fuel balance, the new exhaust can be used to it's fullest and the power increase should be profound.

Most likely 140 is too much, though. You'd need a very free flowing pipe and pod to need that kind of jetting.
