Changing front diff. fluid?
#1
What is the recommended way to change to front diff. fluid. Is it easier to loosen several of the nuts that hold the cover on and let the fluid drain out the bottom. Or, would it be best to remove the nut on the diff. itself (filler nut) to drain the fluid. I have not done this before. Thanks.

Frank300,
The job is easy. Scrap all of the ideas you have had so far. On my Four-Trax (and I am assuming yours is the same) I remove the skid plate from under the diff. There is a drain plug at the bottom of the diff. Drain the old stuff, reinstall the drain plug and the skid plate, and fill the diff through the filler plug. I use 80W90 gear lube in the diff.
