I am going to purchase a swingarm skid plate and frame skid plate for my 400ex... I have read the DG is decent, but very difficult to install (holes don't line up, etc.), and the AC is junk. I've read many good things about the PRM though. Any insight or recommendations would be helpful...

I have an Armadillo skid plate on my 400EX and am very pleased with it. It has held up to alot of punishment. it cost about $65 from Rocky Mountain.

Over the years I have used most of the major brands with mostly so-so results with the exception of the PRM. I'm currently running an Armadillo, which like the PRM, is made of .025 stock in the lower portion rather than the .190 material which is used in most of the others. I like the Armadillo at least as well, maybe more than the PRM in holding up in big hits from rocks, etc.

i use PRM as well and they hold up fine. They are also much cheaper than the others.

I have the PRM swing arm skid plate which took about 10 minutes to install and has taken some big hits from rocks with no problems. I highly recommend it.
