hey Gabe, My Works shocks were set up for my weight and riding style. If I had it to do over, I would have gotten them zero preload style. I want my 400ex to look like the guys 250rs in the videos. I also want the bike to act just like their 250rs. I heard that when they are setup for zero preload, they are a much stiffer ride. Is this true? I feel that my shocks are great and now that I think about it, there are many times that I wince because of a rut or a bump that would have normally been a problem, and nothing happens other than straight and smooth. That is why I couldn't understand how the others would be better. How much is it to convert the shocks to TCS and zero preload?

I don't remember how much it is to convert your Works to TCS, if you're happy with them, I would just wait until their due for a rebuild, then send them in for the conversion.

As far as the ZPS riding stiffer, mine are setup for the +2 control arms I don't have and ride vastly superior to my stockers, they soak up anything you throw at them. On the bigger jumps, they feel really progressive, very stiff toward the end of the travel, which is great. As far as just riding around they are very, very cush, I can't imagine how nice they'd be with +2 control arms.

Thanks! I have a buddy's (who's out of town) 400EX here at the house, I may borrow his shock and send mine off (no down time ). This bike will feel great, I can't wait to sky it out!

Yep, I plan on getting the $420 option with ZPS on the rear.

I am kinda scared to air it out now, the fronts are making me too confident and I'm killing the rear.. Here's a couple of other pics taken recently before my new fronts.

Double at Chris's track
4th gear 60 footer onto a flat landing (rear tires touching down at the red cone). I hope you guys enjoy this pic, I smashed the insides of a really nice set of Gold 250R Enkei's doing it.....
