Honda Rincon or Prairie 650?
That's a matter of opinion! You can argue pro's and con's about each machine. I will tell you what....... which one is the better machine for you? That's the real question. I love my 650 prairie and wouldn't trade it for anything else, but thats just my opinion. If i were you i would go test drive bolth of them, check out the pro's and con's of each machine then make your decision. It took me 3 months to find the right machine for me. I looked at and rode all the big bores...... polaris 700, polaris 600, honda rincon, yamaha grizzly, traxter, prairie, etc.
Good luck with what ever decision you make.

Hey 2003650,
I too have a 2003 P650. I too have ATR's. I just mounted them. They are harsh compared to the OE Dunflops. Tell me what air pressures you are running and how it rides.
Hey Honda guys, I am visiting this list for my riding partner who has a Rincon.

Surprised that you thought the ATR's were harsher than the OE Dunlops. I Put the ATR's on my Prairie 650 and thought they made a dramatic improvement in ride and handling. I run 5psi in front and 4psi in the rear. This is the pressure that was recommended by one of the ATV magazines after their testing of the new ATR's.

Geebee, Before purchasing I called ITP and spoke to a rep and he recommended 6.5! I tried it and posted here. Well I now have 5.0 all around and am relieved at the comfort level. What 4Wheeler was the test on?
Have you set your toe-in to zero? It sure made mine steer much better.
I rode my partners Rincon and man the steering is Lincoln Continental like. I was riding around in 4X4 all pop-eyed about the steering and did not know it. The ride is plush but I like the more solid feel of mine. I like to toss the rear end of mine around to maneuver in the tight stuff and can't seem to do it very easily with the independent rear.
If I had to pick one, and only one - reason to choose between the 2 it would it would be the locking front end. This is a must for my application. I deer hunt in a steep mountain area and have to be able to come up and out of there with the harvest.
The reason I just traded the 2000 Kodiak was I got into trouble with the front wheel spinning in the air while the other stalled. I came VERY close to loosing the machine.
To my good fortune the 2004 P700's hit the show rooms and that brought the 2003 P650s' down to 5825.00 OUT THE DOOR. For you shoppers Call a Kawasaki \ Yamaha dealer called Smith Brothers of Oneonta located in Alabama. He had 2 reds and 4 greens left last weekend. SmithBrothers
