Foreman 450es Swing Arm Adjustment
#1
Hi All, I'm new to the forum, I want to salute you all heheheh ..
Okay, here's the question ..
I recently went to a 100 km run on my Foreman 1998 .. It's the first ride I take on this Quad, I've just buy it ..
I've ridden it like Hell 'cause everyone say that honda is tuff .. Well, I do trust that honda is tuff!! .. But I broke the left rear Bearing, and the Swing Arm went out of alignment (- It's going side to side -) ..
Well, I've replaced the Bearing, The old bearing was broken, maybe it has been never changed ..
Then I've noticed the swing arm went side to side when I "shake" the back of the machine, so I've thought that the bearings in the swing arm were also broken, but I tried to tighten the swing arm, and the loose was gone and the swing arm was working correctly..
My question is, If I tighten the swing arm, is there anything I have to adjust !? .. I've seen a kind of Lock Nut???? In the right Hole of the Hex Nut, is this an adjustment Screw or something !? .. Do I have to torque it !? And, What is the alignment procedure for the rear of the quad !? .. (- I have Rampage tires that are larger than the tires on the front -) ...

Hmmkay..
But what about the tires Sizes, I mean, what will happen if I keep them of different sizes.. 'Cause I buyed it this way, the guy
seems to have used the tires to 50% .. I don't have any problem of traction, and no problem for turning, and I must say, it turns very easily and compared to the Fourtrax 350 of my dad, it turns much better with this configuration ... I have Rampage too in front ..
And anybody can rate my tires, I mean, Rampage are good mud tires!? .. And ... About the swing arm, what is the right nut, I have the HEX Nut, I torque it to 3 lbs, than there is a nut around it, it's a strange nut, this is a Lock nut !? .. How do I torque it!? .. I saw somewhere that I need to put lock-tite on the Hex Nut.. Anything else !?

I see you have a Foreman too .. Tell me, what problems if you had any !? .. Did you have with it....
Oh, and stupid question .. I have some backfires in the muffler when I decelerate at about 1/4 down to closed throttle, I adjusted the mixture screw to Richen the mix, well, I think I did that right (- Hey it's my first time configuring a Carb -), well, anyways, it's better than it was, it doesn't make as much backfires as it did, but it still does some when the engine is warm/hot .. . I checked the spark plug, before changing the mix, it was clear, after, the spark plug was more tanned .. I did about 2-3 turns out on the pilot screw .. And if I'm not wrong, the screw is more to the front of the quad on the carb, and SCrewing out gives more Fuel to the mix .. (I Hope) ..
Thanks for your reply !!

Well i had a few probmlems. Its an 03 foreman 450 es i have had problems wit trax loc not going to 4wd from 2wd. Also i have had to replace all my front plastics and fenders. With the aftermarket exughst i have on my foreman its very normal to have backfires in the muffler. Not all the time but when letting off the gas. Foremans are great quads tons of torque down in the lower gears. You always must put the same size tires on the front and back on a 4x4 ALWAYS
