Rancher VS Kodiak
#21
I haven't seen all these "problems" listed anywhere either. I do find it interesting that folks with makes other than Honda are always comparing them to Hondas. Sounds to me like they are trying to convince themselves that they actually made a good buy...even though the didn't buy a Honda.

My Kodiak cost 5499 Winch: Warn A2000 99.00 Paper work etc.= Total...5,643.00 with speedo As far as relibility goes. How hard is the machine rode. Who takes care of it. Are adjustments made on time (like the valves) kind of oil how often its changed. When you get ready I'll sell you a brand new Warn A2000 in the box for 250 bucks.

This is in response to Like4X4. What are you talking about comparing to Honda? My friend who has a Rancher ES 4x4 was comparing it to my Kodiak because he likes it so much. You people get sooo wrapped up in the Honda name. If you put all your faith in a machine it will bring you down NO matter what make. My friend is also a guy who's Rancher's ES stoped working at Brown Mtn. in NC when we were there a month ago and I am the guy who talked him out of wanting to take it back and get a Kodiak. I like the Rancher and it is a nice quad, but Honda is not bulletproof like you people think they are. My Kodiak came away from the trip with no problems. You people act like everyone should go, "oh look at him, he bought a honda, I bet he just LOVES it". Please. If you want a quad then go look at both of them and get factual info, not this bias stuff you will find in here because it makes me laugh at how everyone goes, well look mine does this and yours DOESN'T....AHAHAHAHAH. Anyway hope you get the quad that is right for you. Oh and someone else earlier posted that, "I think the Rancher would be right for you...". How the heck do you know what is right for anyone. Anyway good luck.

My buddy has a 2000 Rancher ES 4x4, and I have a Kodiak, I can beat him in almost every category, we constantly have our own competitions, even I ride his to see if I can beat him with my Kodiak, but no. The Kodiaks are strong, Ranchers are great farm ATV's. The Kodiak goes faster, I can pull more than him, I can adjust my shocks and he cant, which is excellent so you can set them for your needs. Just remember the Kodiak was ATV of the year in 2000, and they havent changed much since. I'm not bashing the Rancher, I love the ES, I'd buy one if there was no Kodiak.
