It said in dirtwheels that Tim Farr's 2002 GNC CRF440's estimated value is $30,000 I know who can afford something like that....Tim Farr, and thats it!, only because he has full sponsorship by his sponsors, so he doesnt pay a dime. I know I dont have 30 grand, but I still want to work my way up the competitive ladder on a budget....and these new quads are the way to do it.

 

ATKINS!, only time will tell was going to happen in the big picture. I think honda will due just fine and yamaha was a great push for the high performance atv market.

The way i see it is Atkins is right when it comes to profesional racing. Nobodys gonna race stock shocks, a-arms, axle or stock engine, but if your saying that once modded that the 450r and yfz are just as good as the other than you might as well say that a modded Z400 is too or 400ex. However the best riders are always gonna switch to the new quads because this is how theyre sponsors get more attention. Tim farr will do just as well on any of these quads. However like atkins said, you could take one of the new 450s and be more competitive stock than a Z or 400ex but if your really serious about racing than your bikes not stock and then you just ride whatever your sponsors think is best.

 

Well after reading through this thread I have to say its truely rolling down hill. The person who said the first post should have been the only or last post you had it right.

I have said and keep hearing one thing that makes a lot of sense and that how to compare something to AIR, and till the Honda is out in the hands of us riders were just wasting bandwidth.

Who here would prefer to ride or race a stock machine?

And as far as the comments on rider ability go there right on the spot, I have discussed this before and it seems that if Chris Borich can completely inialate the A class in D6 Harescrambles on a stk piped Z400 there is more to rider ability than most of us want to accept.

actually i have ridden a YFZ, i own one! I know how good it is!, have you ridden the 450r your so quick to rally around??? NO!!!!!!!

BTW, im saying I love the YFZ, not saying theres anything wrong with the 450r considering none of us have ridden it yet!

 

do you think that it will only be REAL racers that buy yfz's?........I very seriously doubt it.......considering several people in town have them and only one is a REAL racer.........
