But the Z400 KILLS THE 400EX..... i saw them race and the Z dominated.......(they where both bone stock)

ATV Action magazine had a shootout between the YFZ, 400ex and z400 this month (or last month). Anyways, The YFZ dominated (but we're only comparing the 400ex to the Z400). On a drag race, the 400ex was 1/2 second behind the Z400 (while the Z400 was behind the YFZ at about 3 seconds). The Z400 also beat the 400ex on a racetrack.
Anyways, I am lookign into the Z400. I love my friend's 400ex, but the Z400 has reverse...

Don't go with the 250Ex go with the 300Ex...You may like that auto clutch but its not a powerful machine and its not fast if u wanna be fast go wit the 300 ior 400 i race z250s and 250exs all the time i blow them away with my stcok 2003 300Ex

Slap a filter , pipe, jet it and the 250ex will keep up with the 300ex and a warrior too! I have gator tires on mine and i can go throught more mud then some of the utilites i ride with, but you just have to know how to ride mud. trails are nice on a 250ex, but i would suggest buying diffrent shock if you have the money. Also wheelies are real easy and i can pull the front end up in any gear just about. If you really want more speed they make a 270 kit for it but i would't spend all this money if your just going to outgrow it anyways like my self. I am looking to upgrade to a z400 because of speed handling and suspension, i road a friends and it is also really easy to do wheelies with, and fast as well, and it has reverse in my opinion that would be the way to go because you might outgrow the 250ex.
