After reading this forum and the yamaha forum the only thing superior on the YFZ is electric start and to some thats not a concern ask any banshee owner. It will all come down to personal preferenc otherwise we'd all be rideing the same thing a DS I would think

You might be right, but if we had it my way every person in my county would get a new outhouse too.
Some are just bad.

Mags had it last week. Hmmm, and who rode it? The show downs are soon to follow. Talk is cheap, let the machine get out and see what it does. We should all be happy that finally we have a ton of sport quad pics....and I do mean a ton. To say Yamaha was the first to "spice" things up....how soon you forget the DS and the Cannondale. Pic your fave and battle 'em at the track. I'll take one of each parked in my shop. hehe

" dont know whats more embarassing. honda stopped making performance quads for over 10 years and dominates still. or yamaha kept making them and couldnt. "
HA2.... that was funny!!!

If I may contribute my 2 cents worth to this forum. I believe the Honda will beat out the YFZ because if you look under the hood, there's a nice 42mm carburetor feeding he beast. The YFZ only has a 39mm unit. I could be wrong- but I can't wait to see it in action....

I seen someone wrote "Honda builds the most reliable quads on earth" Reliability and Honda do go together and so do Accords and 4 doors!
Really people this quad will be a nice ride most of the quads out there are (all brands) just pick the one that suits you best. And I'll see ya at the Drags!

But the Honda is only 10.5/1 while the Yamaha is 11.9/1. They weigh the same so i think the Honda will have a better low end and the Yamaha a better top end... The Honda will be a better all around quad though...

Hey, to the guy that said "the only advantage the yami has is electric start" ha ha ha! ok pal, look at the specs and compare the two!! Then there was the guy that said that the 42mm standard carb, was going to be better the the 39mm keihin fcr flat slide carb, ummm yeah........thats why it happens to cost $700 and is one of the most popular upgrades that racers do to there quads!!
Look, I dont think that the honda is going to be a bad quad, that would be unlike honda. Yes, I personally do think it will not be as good of a package as the yfz. I believe that it will be the closest thing to a yfz though, and die hard honda fans will have a good quad to ride and should be proud. But, just look at the specs, theres really not that many cool things about the trx.
What really cracks me up is all this talk about "electric start........this is a true race quad, it doesnt need it" Kind a like they are smearing it in yamaha's face for having electric start on the yfz and that the yfz must not be a true racer cause it does have electric start! WELL, got news for y'all, they both weigh 350lbs, if you take the electric crap off the yfz your down to 335lbs or less. Yamaha got away with putting electric start on there rig, and still got it to way as much a the 350lb kickstart trx450r!!!!
I will be waiting to see what this honda is capable of, but I am certainly not expecting it to be better then the yfz, thats for sure.
Oh, one other thing I love is the "prolink" linkage!! Yeah, there ya go honda!!! -Could have atleast put the dirtbike linkage in the poor thing! (LIKE YAMAHA DID)!!!! "Lets put some 'ol linkage from the 80's in there"!!
