you will have plenty of bottom end power with the stage 1 cam. it will seem more usable too. i would suggest getting ross or je pistons since the wiseco pistons have incorrectly labeled compression ratings for the trx400ex. if you don't want to run race gas, i wouldn't run over 10.8:1 with the ross or je pistons. good luck

CT sells Ross pistons. I had an 89mm 11.5:1 in my 440 from winter of 98 to summer of 03. Never had to do a topend, only valve adjustments. It liked 100 octane but would run on pump premium in a pinch.

give C&D racing a call. they will be able to answer all of your questions. the # is 308-696-7805.
you will have to tell them "cals400ex" sent you. dusty at that shop knows me as "cal." that should be enough to get a decent price. if not, pm me and i will tell you what you need to do. the sleeve will need to be pressed into your cylinder. a local shop will have to do that for you, unless you send your cylinder in somewhere. C&D will be able to send you everything you need besides the fact that you need the sleeve pressed in. they can probally do that for you if you send in the cylinder. just give them a call.
