es stalling (please help)
#1
today i was out riding my recon es in the snow. it did fine in the snow and everything. the snow here is about 5-6inches deep. then i started to drive on the road. i went to turn around and when i was downshifting it stalled. i thought nothing of it because it started back up right after. then i went about a mile and when i was turning around it stalled again. i could feel the engine start to misfire and lose power when i was riding. so i checked the gas and it had plenty. it took about 10-15minutes to get started again. and because the choke doesnt really work i couldnt really do anything with it. i finally got the motor to turn over. i then held my thumb on the throttle some to keep it from stalling again. when i got it started and left, it felt fine. i took it home and parked it in our gas-heated garage. does anybody know why this happened or any tips to keep it from happening? aany help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Seth

Sounds to me like the carb was icing up. If the temperature and humidity conditions are right, ice will form on the inside of the carb and affect the airflow. Usually just above freezing temperatures and damp.
