I had two dirtbikes before my quad, I still prefer the thumb on a quad and a twist on a bike.

I thinhk it'd be a little more akward on a quad....on a dirtbike the bike leans with you and you're never really off to one side of it. On quads you will go into a turn and have to lean off to one side, I think it wouldnt be more difficult to control the twist if you are leaning a lot to one side or the other......just my opinion! Peace

To show how much I prefer a thumb throttle I put one from a 250x on my yz250 dirtbike, I had to use a 250x master cylinder to make the throttle fit, I love it, but when I used to race, people would look at me funny at the gate. My 250r had a twist on it when I got it but I got a thumb. The only thing I like twist throttles for is when I used to go out on the ice with my 82 atc250r my thumb got cramped so I got a twist for it.

if you are much in to jumping or wheeling go with the thumb. when you hit jumps and land weird with your wrist it will hit the throttle and wheelie up, and whoops are a pain as whell.
