Default Windshield ? for 400 at rancher owners

Just bought my 400 rancher today, they didn't have the honda windshield in stock so they gave me an aftermarket loaner til it comes in. What does the honda windshield look like, they didn't have a book around to show.? Also I heard that you have to make brackets to keep the thing from vibrating off. ?????

Look under accesories on the Honda website. I think I saw a photo of it there once.

I don't know about your AT but here's what i think of the Honda windshield on the Rancher 350...I have the Honda windshield on my rancher and my brother has the aftermarket windshield on his rancher...i find that the Honda Rancher is not as sturdy or solid...mine vibrates a lot more....i have broken off bolts and replaced at least 3....yes i do use loctite, but there is so much vibration that they still loosen up and eventually break...if i drive any speed on a rough trail, you can really notice the windshield flopping around...the aftermarket one on my brothers bike does not do this and he hasn't broken off any bolts, and none have come loose....if i had my time back i would have gotten the aftermarket windshield and saved myself a hundred bucks!!

I have had different types of windshields. But, the best one I have found is the quick detachable one. It stays on good and you can take it off without taking all the brackets off. Do a search for detachable windshields and you should find it. I can't remember who makes it, but it is aftermarket.
