Default 450R cam help fast!!!

Ok guys, I downloaded a bad thread with directions and thought it would go smooth. The directions suck. Does anyone know how to time this motor correctly? I think I may have slipped the timing chain during disassembly. I guess I could go buy the Service manual, but I would like to ride Sunday, (this weekend). I need some real info on how to time the crank with the cam with the cam sprockets, etc.. I took everything apart and "zip tied the top sprocket to the chain as to not go off a tooth, but I think the bottom sprocket, which I can't see has slipped on the chain. Also, I think I took the chain tensionor OFF like the directions said. This is the long skinny thing with 2 8mm bolts on the left as in you are sitting on the bike and it is on your left side. Crap, I have ripped apart my turbo mustang a million times and I am lost, please help.

Ok, no help needed. I figured it out. I stuck a long rod into the sparkplug hole and just watched it come up and hit TDC, then the Honda dealership filled me in on the mark on the top sprocket and the mark on the cam holder. I also figured out how to back off the tensioner after I took it off, you just use a very small flat-head screw driver and turn it and the rod starts to back off. The quad is running good! If anyone needs any advice on installing the HRC kit and has NO directions, give me a shout and I can help. I know this is easy after the first time, you will be like, "how in the heck didn't I know that." Oh well, just scary ripping into my first Japanese engine!

I know this is a old thread, but did you use the little screw driver to back out the cam tension, insted of the the tool cam chain tension holder?

Does any one can advise that CRF 450 dirt bike cam would work on the TRX 450R quad? if so I wonder how reliable it is, I plan on getting HRC kit but I will not be using the jet kit, so it's waist of money, Please find detail info listed below of wht I plan to do. Advise will be greatly appreciate thks.

Yoshimura TRS Tri oval carbon fiber full system.
Dynojet stage II jet kit.
K & N air filter.
CRF 450 dirt bike cam shaft.
few teeth down on the rear spocket to get better top end.
