Default What is the best powerkit for 400?

I am upgrading my 400 to either a 416 or 426 and I'm looking into a powerkit for it. I see the Prodesign Pro Flow Kit with K&N filter for Honda is 107.95, with a supposed 19% increase in hp. Is there another kit that is better?

Here's the link on the specs:

The version I was looking at was the Pro Design Pro Flow Kit with K&N Filter for Honda TRX400EX for 107.95

HELP!!! lol

i probably wouldn't waste the money and just vent your air box lid if you want more air. i bet you won't notice much of anything with that assembly.

That's what i figured too. Instead of the kit, im just buying the dynojet kit stage 2, K&N filter, and six 1 inch vents for the box.
Do you think the vents would be better than the outerwear prefilter?

the vents will not let too much air in, but that means less dust will enter your air box. i would probably not even mess with the vents. the outerwear airbox covers that velcro on are not that great either. the mounting just isn't worth. i would probably make your own vented airbox lid with the outerwear cover incorporated into it. you can buy these but they aren't cheap. also, you can buy a K&N filter lid which is even more expensive.

also, i wouldn't mess with the jet kit. i would just go out and buy individual keihin jets.

OK so what your saying reguarding the lid is either buy the K&N prefilter lid or just leave it as is?
And your also saying the outerwears lid isnt very good either?...could you ellaborate on the reasoning for saying the outerwear and vents aren't all that great?

thanks

they make an outerwear lid that has an outer already made into the lid itself. this is good, but probably is a good $50. the K&N lid is good too but too$$ from what i hear. they also make an outerwear that you take off your lid and it velcros to the air box. this setup sucks. the velcro comes off and it isn't a full seal by the air box anyways. if you want more air you will need to do something. it would probably be cheapest to buy just the outerwear cover (that just covers the air box) and the rig something up with your lid and that outerwear. you need a way to hold that outer wear on your air box lid that you cut out. some people design a way to hold this on and looks great, but i don't have that artistic ability. the vents just don't let much air in. i don't think you will notice much with just the vents. however, if you only want a very very small amount of air, they are worth a shot. i have them and really couldn't tell a difference.

Ok, the vents aren't happening lol. I'll just search around and buy an outerwear lid, the full one that just replaces the stock lid, i think that woudl be the best bet for my money. Because i have the artistic ability of a quadrapylegic, so there will be nothing cool happening to it if i were to get the velcro one, so ill just play it safe and buy the replacement lid.
