i just bought a yellow 2004 300ex, and need some help finding the right mods to make it scream.

heres what i am planning on doing:

full DMC Alien exhaust
Dynojet jet kit
K&N filter
20" radials
possibly new handle bars.

You guys think this is a good set up?

I would say that's a good start. I just got a 400ex and have done basically the same mods to mine, you may also want to look into custom airboxes. And then later on into piston kits etc. if your looking for high performance or racing...

 

im not really going to race it. i just mainly ride on trails, and occasionally on the roads.
so is the full Alien system pretty loud?? my buddy has a 400ex with a full yoshimura system and it sounds awesome. that is the sound i am looking for without the yoshimura pricetag. also, how bad will the 20" radials slow down the top end. i read on here that guys put in a different front sprocket, but im not sure if i want to go that route. i wonder how it will do if ijust swap out the tires for now.

 

well im not sure about the tires cuz mines got 18's on the back (400ex).
that would be a pretty good size for trail riding.
I have the dmc full and i love the sound, and it adds lots of torque and power; im very pleased with it.

 

if you what a good pipe that isnt to expensive get a :white bros e- series, pro circut t-4 , or hmf

 

after the 20in back tires your gonna want a bigger front sprocket.I have a 14 because i still need a good amount of low end,but if your wanting topemd more thatn bottom get a 15.As for the pipe i dont know a thing about the DMC's except theyre really loud.I was EXTREMELY pleased with my e-series promeg

 

Congrads on the new toy...that sounds like a good set up ya got in mind...if you wanted to go with the 22" realtors...they work good for me or some better suspension...i know thier not cheap but thats just a suggestion...Alien exhaust sound good...the Promeg and header i got really woke up my 300 but thats all up to you.

well enjoy the new bike those mods you listed would make it feel like a new quad
