Default Will I like 86 250R?

I am probably gonna step up a bit and buy this 1986 TRX250R.
Here is a picture of it.
Click Me to see.
It has
Frame Gusseted
Shock Covers (blue)
Front tires Riken radials grooved
Front wheels Douglas .190 drilled to be reversed
Graydon nerf bars
Pro kill switch
CT reed cage
CR clutch basket
Reed spacer
Boysen reeds
FMF pipe (MX)
Duncan racing muffler
Chrome foot pegs
Douglas rear 1.90 chrome
Turf tamers grooved 50-75%
Uni-Air filter
Ceet seat
Handle bars O'Neal Pro-Lock (new)
Barnett clutch
CR 250 head gasket
And I think more to it by looking at the picture.

My Questions
Do they kick over easily?
1986--Is this a good year?
I will be mainly trail riding--Should I have much problems? I know its 2 stroke, but will I ahve to be feathering the clutch alot? Someone told me if I could take a Warrior around, I could take a 250R.
Handle good even in stock form?(Anything will be better then my Warrior)
The guy says it may need a arm bushings, hard to install?
Are they reliable?
How often will I be looking at a new top end?

Anything else you think may help me out, Let me know. He says he may give me a deal on some holeshots or so.

Thanks Guys--

I recently traded my 2002 300EX, for a 86' 250R. I believe i made the right choice hear, and i believe u will to. I had never owned a 2 stroke quad until this one and i really like it. I didn't know how good it ran till my friend brought his YFZ over one afternoon and we raed them to see who won. He stayed with me through second gear and than i left him sittin. Mine usually starts on the first kick no more than two. I put A-arm bushings in mine and they ran about 145 bucks from the honda place for the entire kit (16 pieces), pivot works makes them but there $59 a piece for upper and lower. I ride trails some but not alot it does good on the trails, but i wouldn't want to ride it on the trails along time unless u can open it up every now and than, because if u can't open it up some u may fowl out plugs easily. I don't know about how reliable they are but if they are like any other Honda i have ever owned i am sure they will be good. If the R is in good shape and u have the money i would deffinetly buy it i don't think u can go wrong.

Well I will definatly have room to open mine up. We have to ride on a trail, which I could open her up on. Then to this big bowl with lots of hillcimbs and big burms(aka rainbows) and I can open her up there, but I should be fine with about 20-30mins or trail riding then opening her up for a little bit then back to 20-30mins and open her up?

Thanks, and were the bushings easy to install?

I had never done it before and the first side took me like 30 mins. to completely do it but i did the other side in 15 because i knew what i was doing. Yea as long as you don't go for 3 or 4 hours at ow RPM's u should be fine i have just always heard it is hard on a two stroke to let them run at low RPM's and not blow the soot out of them.. I have had more trouble in dirt bikes than in my R.

I used a hammer and a punch to get my old bushings out at first, but i found out that a bolt worked the best because of the flat head it knocked them rite out, some were harder than others to get knocked out but relatively easy to do. Be carefull when ur puttin them back in though a hammer with a rubber mallet might work the best i busted one of my new ones with a regular hammer, and had to put one of the old ones in it's place. Sorry i left this out in the last reply.

Yesterday I went riding with my R to some ROCKY trails in the mountains. My R has a full drag port and i was able to let it get down into low rpm in 2-3rd gear up hills just putting around, never fowled a plug and i was running WAY rich.. me and my brothers R's never had ONE problem with the motors, his bike never broke or any thing, but i blew out my front right tire half way through a 2 hour trail, no turning back.. I love this bike!
