My rancher ES 4x4 cant do wheelies, but the S models will surely do them. It doesnt do wheelies because you cant shift over a set RPM. As for speed, it goes 53, and its easy to get it up there. It will go 54 downhill. It is CRAZY in the mud, although, I did get stuck when I went in mud that was like brownie mix, although the mud I went in, NOBODY has ever gotten through, even a 2 ton chevy 4x4 truck that went in to pull out a stuck polaris (pun intended) got stuck. So I didnt expect to get through it. The stock tires it comes with suck. You should get those off ASAP. Put some titans on the front and some vamps on the back for good mudding. For super mudding put some mudd-bugs on the front and smoe vamps on the back. For eXtreme mudding put all 4 vamps on. For jumping, it jumps great, even, balanced. The ES shifting is really nice, you get a really sweet spedomeater, hour meater, gear postion, odomeater, and clock with it too. It is air cooled, and it has an OIL COOLER that is FAN ASSISTED, this is really good, you dont have to worry about water tubing getting punctured, and you will never overheat, just like the old VW'S. The fan comes on when the oil goes over a certain temperature, usually when your going in a low gear at a slow pace. It climbs great, I have never had a problem climbing, it will do most everything in 3rd gear, and if you have to put it in second your either fat or just crazy for going up a sick hill
What else... Ah, skid plates, the Rancher comes with a really nice protected belly, the only thing i would buy right away are the a-arm and CV joint protectors. www.oxlite.com has really nice, lightweight steel ones. If you do riding on rocky trails you will want to get the belly plate, www.highlifter.com makes a really nice one, easy to install.. The rancher is a great quad, I havent had a problem yet, 379 miles and 45.7 hours. Just the dent I put in the front skid plate (which i have to add is much bigger then the ones on the old 300's) I greatly reccomend the Rancher over any other middleweight quad. The wolverine, the SP 335 (heavy peice of trash) or any Artic Cat (also cheaply engineered trash). Honda. Best on Earth.
Sorry to Po-Laris and Artic-Cat fans. But I speak the truth.

THE RANCHER ES 4X4 WILL WHEELIE WITH ANY UTILITY QUAD!!!!!!!! I can wheelie going inot first, second, and sometimes third. You hafta get the timing of the shift, throttle, and body english right and viola! Don't beleive me? Check out the video secition on http://www.atvextreme.com Download Phalynx wheeling #2 or phalynx wheeling. His Rancher is an ES 4x4 with 26" or 27" meats all the way around.
I have had my rancher to 55mph on pavment.
Been through mud over the racks and water over the fenders. Don't jump much because it ain't a sport quad but does quite well on the jumps.
Engine is air cooled with fan assisted oil cooler. You will never have a problem with it overheating.
My rancher is bone stock for now.
hope this answers some of your questions.

I can wheelie with mine. I stand on the rack and give it a shot of gas, the front end just leaps right up. I did a 15 foot double with mine that some guys made for their racing quads. I landed kinda hard, but it was worth cause i had an audience. Mines never overheated, its pretty good in the mud, but not the best
