Hi I am 13 kinda short and right now i ride a yamaha ttr90 please don't get mad I know I don't have a quad. anywho I was wondering if a 300ex would be a good first quad for me? I like my 90 but it is way to underpowerd and slow and small for me. I've only riden dirt bikes but I want to try out quads. My cousin tought me how to clutch on his preditor so i have that down pat. man that thing is fast. I do mostly intense trailriding lol. People say the 90's are small but that would climb any hill that you would put a quad against. its just way underpowerd. Anyway I just wanted to know if it would be a good switch. thnx

250ex or 300ex are both great choices, and possibly consider a blaster or mojave

 

or a z-250 that 300ex is an ugly ugly quad

 

excellent quad. The one in my signature is my second one and i love it as much as the first. I never should have sold my first one. Alot of people are going to ask you why you just dont get a 400ex. If our budget allows you too i would. the 300 is just a great machine though very reliable i have put tons of miles on my last one and all i ever had to do is just change the oil. they are cheap and fun to ride no matter what anyone tells you. I would also consider the mojave they are really snappy and are almost the same thing as a 300ex. they are just harder to find aftermarket parts for.

 

well i don't really like two strokes sry guys and a z-250 would be great if it had a clutch. I would love a 400 but i think it would be a little to much for me at this time do you?

 

If you dont like 2 strokes thats fine. I love em[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] but whatever lol, anyway i think the 300ex would be an excellent choice for a quad. I ride my friends all the time and its great.

 

i beleive you should go to 300ex because once you get really used to the clutch you will love it. i have a 250x and it is great for me i am 14 and i ride with a clutch and i am now wanting a bigger bike so you might as well go with the 300 because the 250 will seem too slow too quick.

 

Maybe the best trail bike ever! This was my daughters first manual (hand) clutch bike. The 300 is medium size, but not so small that an average size adult is cramped up on it. So, it is a bike you can ride now, but you won't outgrow it in a year or two either. It's advantage over the 250's is that it has real, sport bike suspension. Later, you can hop the engine up for more power.
