No new quad, eh??

That's pretty cool Gabe. I'll be one of the first in line for the new quad. I'm 90% convinced that there will be a new sport quad. I'm still hoping for a 500cc four stroke though. I don't really think i'd go after a 650. I can't wait till tomorrow. I wanted to add to, my hat off to you for starting up the 400ex email group. I've learned alot in the short 10 days that i've been in it. Good job!

Ok, I dont see anything looking like cam chains or valves or anything. I really think it looks more like the rear axle of a quad than the internals of an engine.
But thats just me.
Sorry to be so argumentative, but I just am sick of having 80% of the posts on here be about a new "sport" quad which everyone seems to have inside info about. None of us will know until Honda lets us know that its coming out so why go to all the trouble to rack our brains about what it can be? I dont see the point. Its like everyone who swore up and down they had inside info on the YZ426 quad which never came out. Those rumors started a year ago, it turned out to be a 660. Maybe the new honda sport quad is a 650, or 250 2-stroke or 500, or maybe its a new engine, or maybe nothing at all. I can think of a ton of things it could or couldnt be, but that doesnt make any of them exist.
Sorry that I am being so skeptical, I just dont see Honda jumping into the big bore battle just yet. They never made a 500r, or a 350 2cylinder R did they? But yet the banshee and LT500r came out, Honda I think would rather keep their focus on good handling and let their "underpowered" quads run circles around these other ones.

I really hate to say it, but.....I told you so. I tried to warn you all it wasnt gonna be a high performace banshee and raptor killer. They havent made anything to outrun a banshee for the last 13 years, why would they start in 2000?
Sorry, I am just as disappointed as you are, I mean through all the skepticism I was deep down hoping they would come through and prove me wrong, but had to play the odds and looks like they were right this time.
Sorry

All I really implied is that there was strong evidence of a new quad. I speculated that it might me a 650. It was not.
However, I was correct that there was a new quad coming, a new Goldwing, and a new CBR600, as well as news of the 4 stroke dirtbike.... I was pretty d@mn close.

Go to the Honda website. The new quad is a Sport Trax 250EX...no it is not a two stroke. It is one step down from the 300EX. 220cc four stroke with shaft drive and an auto clutch. About 7 inches of suspension travel.
The other better news is the announcement of a four stroke motorcross bike (2 wheel). No indication of what engine they are using.
