2002 VTX (production prototype)

Honda delighted dealers with the introduction of the all-new 2002 VTX, a cruiser that features the biggest,
most powerful mass-produced V-twin engine available anywhere. A huge 1795cc liquid-cooled 52-degree V-twin
design with four-inch bores, the VTX powerplant is the first of a new engine family Honda calls Vanguard™. The
Vanguard engine dwarfs other production V-twin engines and hammers out immense power - 103 bhp at 5000 rpm and 117 lb./ft. of torque at 3000 rpm. Advanced programmed fuel injection, high performance suspension and show stopping street rod styling make the VTX the cruiser to ride for 2001. Release of this early 2002 model will be in March 2001.

Agreed. That will be one nice cycle. Correct me if I'm wrong but, isn't this an ATV forum?

LOL that was pretty good. Seriously though, only 100hp?? That seems kinda mediocre for a 1.8liter engine.. my friend's '73 Toyota Hi-Lux came with a 1.8liter rated at 90hp, haha. I would've expected more around 150hp for an engine that size nowadays.

Yeah, but.... it is a torque monster. 117 ft./lbs at 3000 rpm. Move over Twin Cam 88 Stage IIIs

Nope not a Harley...thats because Honda doesn't sell all the crap accessories like beer cans/wallets/headbands/watches/bicycles/...the list goes on. Just for RUBBIES that want to show their dough.
The Honda V-Twins outperform Harleys in every catagory, AND cost thousands less!!! I sold my 1980 Harley dresser and bought a 00 Roadstar and all accessories with money left over.
Best buy I ever did

Without a doubt, this will be a great running, reliable bike. But no matter how you tell it, it is not a Harley. You can not deny the heritage or mystique behind a Harley, even if you hate them. It is much the same with Honda ATVs. You can not deny the reliability of them, even for those that hate them.

i ordered a 00 harley soft tail it took almost a year to come in,but i would rather wait than ride a harley look alike but thats me.harleys hold their value and if your going to spend $15,000 on a motorcycle i think its foolish to not buy a harley, you may save thousands on a harley clone but you will lose thousands when you trade it in.usually the only guys i ever here bad mouthing harleys either never owned one or cant afford one

Or they refuse to pay the outrageously huge price for a machine that has no new styling or updates to speak of. I used to ride street, but had a few too many close calls and decided to stick with a cage.
