Rancher 400AT
I was looking at the new 400AT's in a ATV mag and was looking at the specs. I'd like to get something with an automatic, which the AT is, but I've heard that they are pretty mellow for a 400cc. However, it also says it has ESP as well. How does that work? I assume you can use both? Just curious. It also said they have a diff-lock, but I thought the Rancher's were full-time 4x4.

I have an 04 AT. It's a great quad. The ESP is nice, but to be honest, I NEVER use it. I run in auto all the time. (ESP allows you to shift manually using buttons on the left grip). There is a switch on the right grip to switch from auto to ESP. Also on the right side is your switch for 2x4/4x4. The front diff's are not lockers.
Although it is a great quad, I feel it's a little underpowered. I am looking for something with some more pep. It has enough power to do most everything I do, but I would like to more power for play time.
I did see a guy on a Rincon yesterday that could run with a couple 700 Prairie's so someone knows how to make a Honda go, but I'm not sure if I want to spend that kind of money on mods for a Honda.

I installed a pipe and jet kit on my Foreman and it made a fair amount of difference in power, enough to feel it in the seat of the pants. I put the same kit in a friends rancher 4x4 and it woke it up like you wouldnt believe. It pulls the front wheels in second about anytime he wants and its a full time 4wd rancher. The exhaust is so restricted on hondas. They have a lot more power to offer if you unleash it..
