There is an adjustment on the right side engine case. The adjustment is found on the "bulge" of that side case.
Just remove the rubber protector [if it's still there over all these years] and it's directly underneath it.
Loosen the locknut and turn the screw in the center of it counterclockwise until you feel resistance on it. Then turn it back clockwise 1/4 turn and then hold it still while tightening the locknut back down. That's it. If you still have a problem afterwards, you will need to tear into that left crankcase and see which parts are worn.
