pffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff................. ...hmmmmmmmm lets see.........ahhhhhhhhhhhh can some1 one in this whole honda room can tell me something.......who won one of the most grueling, intense, enduring, pyhsical race and was the only one to finish?.....with minor modifications such as suspension and tires and some rims........(motor stock most important)
the baja x took first place and only place cause let me say.....no honda 400ex or no z400, raptor or yfz, or the kawi 700 or any of those finished.. but the baja x did........ ya a banshee smoke a ds any day.with modifications.....ya yfz smoke the ds up comp.but in the long run baja will come out on top.......and your talking about how horribel it is to jump? pfffff maybe you need to go to grad school and learn to jump cause i jump it fine.......... and ya i know its heavy its one of its downfalls.... but ther are plenty of up falls to make up for it....... i was just out at armagosa today....my friend had the works to his 400ex.......but na he left that at the camp and brought out his predator....and that was ripping me and him was having a blast.......ya call my ds a tank but it rips @$$.and it may not be the best quad....but it sure aint the worst......and far from it.......oh and vinson your all bs..........cause i was getting hole shots on yfz's and half way up the pulled ahead of me a length.but if it was longer at armagosa i bet i catch em.....but those yfz freaking rip!!!.......ya and if anyone else has a word please gohead speak your mind

If I'm not mistaken these are the official results from the 2004 Score Baja 1000. Looks to me like more than 1 quad finished. I believe that Honda won 2003 on a 450r. Please correct me if my info is wrong..

heres the thing shanksta! the reason the 400ex wasnt in the baja was because honda had the 450r. the same reason the blaster/300ex/ warrior and of the other bikes wasnt. anyways i dont really care about baja, thats not my kind of racing. you out the 400ex and a ds650 on an mx track and see who wins. oh and hey if you have to type a ****et pfffffffff one more time just grab your purse and pull that skirt up and walk out of here. like i said dont be in a honda forum if you dont know anything about a honda or if you just coem in here to rag on our bikes. im a positive rider and i love my 400ex and all my other bikes and yes i even like a ds650, so i dont need your negative coments. it really sounds like the only reason you even would say anything like that is you wish you had a 400ex j/k lol

OK, so the DS won the Baja, and so did the 450r. Who here rides Baja regularly? sounds like crickets to me. I don't care for the negative comments either. Seems kinda strange that DS riders are snooping around us 400 riders. Maybe they want to know why something that isn't by any means the fastest or the best on market (according to the magazines) can compete with quads having 250 or 260cc's more. Hmm. The DS is a good quad, a little bulky for my taste, but I think they fit 300lb riders much better than a 400ex. I looked at one when I was shopping for my quad, but nothing really impressed me except the signs all over the dealership that said it won the Baja. No Baja here in Louisiana, so who cares.

La-la, ba-ja, ha-ha, hoo-ha its all pretty much the same to us here on the first coast.
I guess if I lived in the desert I might look at the DS differently, but since i dont its deffinately not on the top of my list for anything but weight, and having a great stock suspension (sort of like a caddilac)
I have rode them, and there a fine machine for long mostly straight and even very rough runs, but when things get tight or have a lot of turns I prefer to ride something else.
Not too long ago I had a chance to test out a ds with a big bore and aftermarket carb etc (ron woods I think, not sure though) it was on a small pretty whimpy mx type track with only a few table tops and some fast tt type turns. It landed very well for its weight, and the power was OK but really only there above midrange, but the damn thing was so tall I felt like I was riding in a lifted f150 and it wouldnt turn for nothing.
I do like them, and applaud BRP for the suspension travel, but I couldnt wait too get back on my 400ex as it was faster, handled better, softend the bumps and jumps better, and felt a thousand times safer.
Cant get into it any more cause the owner is a great guy and a member here and I dont want it to appear like I am trashing his ride because I am not, but I am just that much happier with mine
And just so no one thinks it wasnt a fair comparison mine is set up for XC not MX.
