You will lose some top end but it will make a big difference on the trails.

You were right!!!
Today i went to one of my riding areas and got to really see what it had in open trails. The thing is a rocket, power everywhere. I also got to go head to head with a stock yami450, it was my freind was really talking the smack until we raced. It was not even close the hrc450 is way faster than the stock yfz450. I also smoked a highly modified kx 160(it was bored out). I love this quad...

Hey man I just got my 450r and at 5499 you got a screaming deal, just wish I lived closer to TN! =)

I've only taken her out a few times but I can already see why all my friends are jealous... It's an amazing machine, and I can hardly wait for all the good rides I will have. Hope you're having as much fun as I'm having! =)

And yes i have gone to racing buggies instead of quads bc theres nothing to compare to me the bomb. ds 650 stage 3's just bogg em down and the banshees just cut out the 450's are geared to tall even when u do try and gear em down. I race quads alot but its never realy a race.
last time i checked this forum was about black plastics. i know they make some sick grafix for the black ones. mines red but thinking about some after market grey

Just got my new 450 today and all i can say is wow!!!!! I could not beleive the gobs of torque it has. I knew it would be faster than the 400ex but not as much as it is. I have an hrc kit installed so maybe that is why it feels so fast. After riding the 450 all night I have now decided that i will never ever read a dirt wheels ever again. Everything they said bad about the 450 is not true. They say it is slacking power, they are biased as can be!!!! I could not beleive all of the complaints they had about it that weren't true. My buddy brought over his yami 450 and rode mine and was very very impressed. The kick start well lets just say my mom fired it up first try, and the first gear while it is tall this suits my riding style very well. Great quad!!
congratulations
