yep, it's got ball bearings. i just hope to get it going, would anybody know of any performance parts listed for the engine, and how much compression it should have.

White Bros and Thumper Racing were the guys who built the mean XR600s back about a decade ago. Both are still in business, and the 500 engine doesn't differ that much from the 600.....so check with them guys about what does indeed swap and what doesn't.
That 500 RFVC engine was only built in 83 and 84, so it's going to be hard to find things listed for that exact engine.

I can tell you that a larger single carb works better than the dual small carbs.....and is why Honda went back to a single carb setup on both the 250 and 600 in 1988. Not to mention how much more easy it is to tune correctly. The heads are the same, so you only need to swap out the intake manifold.

well what i want is a cam at least, i will port it out some and i think i am going to try to put true dual exhaust. i am putting this motor on a blaster frame. i like honda but i have the blaster frame handy, so i am using it. i have a DG silencer for the blaster, if i get one more and put it on the other side, i would have a wicked awsome exhaust system. what kind of single carb should be used.

You will need the intake manifold and carb from an early nineties XR600R bike.

The DG silencer you have now is not going to be an effective exhaust for this engine at all because it is a 2 stroke exhaust

what is the difference between 4 strokes and 2 stroke exhaust. it does not have the original packing anymore, it has a lot of steel wool wired around the inner tube. anyways. i was also thinking of 2 cobra megaphone mufflers. they are cheap and sound good. (1 on a 300ex).
