Default battery life

I was wondering if my battery is drained, will it recharge? I heard that a battery if its not a deep cycle will not last after it is charged up?? Is this true?

If its not a deep cycle battery then having it fully drained will do a little damage and possible shorten its lifespan but it may still be good to use. Generally a battery will last 5 years or so sometimes less and sometimes more. Generally the reserve capacity deminishes over time until the battery doesnt hold enough reserve to do any work (even though it may show 12v at the terminals, soon as you attach a load it drops like a rock).
