Thanks once again powerslider. Maybe i will be able to race tommorow who knows. Seems like you have had luck about like me with your R too. Still i wouldn't trade it for anything though. It's always little stuff to which i guess you can expect this with this old of a machine. Thanks again.......

Glad to help, these are great quads once you get all the bugs repaired. I tore mine completely apart and went all through it so it's better than new.

One more thing I just remembered on the drain plug is there's a non threaded section at the end of the plug I cut off to make sure it didn't contact any parts in the trans. Good luck!!!!!

If you want the update kit part number I'll get it for you, I have the box out in the shop it came in. It's called a Lifter Rod Kit.....

Yea if you could get me that part number that would be great. Also, do you remember what year that plug for the GM was for or does it matter. And where did you purchase it from. Thanks

I'll put the number up tomorrow, the plug is used in all the Chevy engines in the 70's. Try the Napa or auto parts stores, the plug has a wide sealing flange on the head and with the metal/rubber sealing washer you don't have to tighten it very tight and it won't leak.

Went to the local NAPA store and got the plug this morning. Tapped the hole and cleaned it out poured some oil in it first and cleaned some of the metal shavings out that may have gotten in it. Drained it than put it new oil. Simple as that thanks for all the help Powerslider. That Hinson clutch basket and clutches sure make a difference in gettin more traction. It finally felt like i was getting all the power to the wheels that the machine was capable of puttin out with those modifications. Thanks again....
