Default 2005 Recon Performance and Top Speed

Just an FYI for those who come to the forum looking for info about the Recon.........Especially those thinking of buying a recon......I use my 2005 Recon for hunting and have been amazed by its performance. I ran it side by side a Polaris Sportsman HO last weekend because I wanted to see how fast it would run. My recon registered 45 mph on the Polaris speedo and I weigh approx 205 lbs. We were absolutely shocked by the top speed! The recon is really a good value in terms of the performance you get for the price.

Yeah, it's wound up pretty tight at 45. Mine still had a little left to give, and I didn't keep it wound up that tight for long at all.

Has anyone confirmed there speed with a GPS? Although the speeds seem to be pretty consistant, I'm not sure how accurate those speedometers are.
